For me, life is an unexpected absurdity, full of contradictions. The mind receives evanescent images but co-ordinates them into meaningful forms. Figures for me are the right vehicle to carry my exaggerated. Space, colour, line are raw materials. I would call a painting co-ordinated feelings.

Each figure has an individual existence and meaning, even while having collective existence, trying to maintain its individuality, despite social pressure. The theme of the individual-society relationship is one that permeates my work.

Communication of the message however, is not as important for me as feelings transmitted through the painting. The onlooker responds in an immediate way whether he likes it or dislikes it.

I paint because life is real. Or life is real because I paint it.
