S. Harshavardhana

S. HARSHAVARDHANA was born in 1958 and is a self taught artist. By training he is a bio-scientist and an established one at that. He has held several senior management positions in the bio-medical industry. Finally, in 1993 he quit the industry to work as a freelance painter. His work has been diplayed at exhibitions like the Bharat Bhavan Biennial of Contemporary Indian Art, Bhopal, 1996; and 'The Pastel', Gallery Art Motif, New Delhi, 1996. Harsha's pastels are actually a view of the world veiled by the gaze of the artist. This world in not an artificially created one. Rather, it is a world where the artist spreads his gaze and hopes that nature will put something into it on its own. S. Harshavardhana lives and works in Delhi.
